md2slack
Paste Markdown, copy a message ready for Slack. Tables included.
Runs in your browser. Nothing is sent.
Conversion notes
- Tables after the first are copied as code blocks.
- Images are copied as links.
- Bold or italics inside a word stay as Markdown in mrkdwn: Slack cannot format part of a word.
How it works
Paste Markdown on the left. It converts as you type, and a paste also copies the result: switch to Slack and paste again.
Copy for Slack puts two versions on the clipboard: rich text and plain mrkdwn. The app you paste into picks the one it understands. Copy mrkdwn only copies the plain version.

Questions
- Is what I paste sent anywhere?
- No. The conversion runs in this page, in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored; only the table option is remembered on this device.
- What do the table options do?
- Rich copies the first table as an HTML table and any others as code blocks. Code block copies every table as an aligned grid. One line per row writes each row as header: value pairs. List makes each row a bullet led by its first cell, with the other columns as header: value sub-bullets. With Rich, the plain mrkdwn version carries tables as code blocks.
- What if the rich paste looks wrong in Slack?
- Use Copy mrkdwn only: it copies just the plain mrkdwn text. Or pick Code block for tables.
